Title: Sales Advisor
Reports To: Store Lead and Area Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY: Prepares and demonstrates vendor products, providing store customers samples of product for the purpose of providing fun and excitement in promoting sales. Displays product and explains features and answers member questions with enthusiasm. Throughout work shift is approachable and friendly and is continuously engaged in talking to members about the vendor products at your local Meijer stores.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Positively engages members to promote and increase sales of product.

Talks to the members continuously about the product by mentioning the vendor’s name, the catch phrase, and key selling points.
Maintains a friendly positive image, attitude and appearance by smiling and making eye contact with the members.
Maintains a professional, clean cart and healthy, safe work environment
Prepares vendor products according to instructions to the Demonstration Product Information Sheet (DPIS). Serves and demonstrates products enthusiastically, providing helpful hints and uses of product, using the SITGA (Smile, Invite, Talk, Give, Ask) format
Sets up and organizes cart/table for demonstration using appropriate signage.
Is on the sales floor on time in order to demonstrate and sell the product.
Adheres to all Food Safety, Handling and Sanitation training and guidelines
Remains open and receptive to various training efforts including product preparation, demo presentation, Store rules, sales training and emphasis
Assists other sales advisors as required in a team-oriented environment
Provides daily, accurate and timely reporting of time worked, sales results and meaningful member comments
Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, washing and drying dishes
Adheres to proper dress code; neat appearance and good grooming
Assists Meijer customers with product information or general help in the building.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS:

Requires ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be able to stand the duration of shift and perform routine tasks with a minimum of supervision, with or without accommodation.
Requires bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, twisting, grasping, pushing and pulling.
Part-time schedule. Must be able to work flexible days and hours to include work availability for weekends.
Excellent communication skills (Good command of the English language) and superb customer care.
Required to pass Food Safety Certification.
Prior sales experience preferred.
Prior cooking experience preferred
