Recruiting Healthy Adolescents Aged 13-18
What is the study about?
Nearly two million teenagers in America are affected by the debilitating condition of depression, and most are undiagnosed and untreated. The study is using blood to screen for markers that indicate depression. With diagnosis, a treatment plan can be implemented to alleviate symptoms. Healthy controls are used to provide a baseline.
What are the benefits of participation?
• Participants receive a medical and psychiatric evaluation.
Who can enroll in the study?
• Males and females 13-18 years old in good health.
• Participants must not have Depression, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, Schizophrenia, Drug Addiction or Claustrophobia (a fear of enclosed spaces).
What do I have to do if I am in the study?
• Participants will attend a study visit and have a blood draw, this takes about 120 minutes.
