Position Summary
Are you passionate about helping people achieve and maintain an active lifestyle? Do you want to motivate and help others? Metro Run & Walk, Springfield is a specialty running store under new ownership, catering to the needs of walkers, runners, and people who live an active lifestyle.
We are looking to add to our team of expert sales advisors who share our enthusiasm and energy in reflecting the active lifestyle of our customers.
In your position, you will be an expert on the products and how they best benefit our customers. Training will be provided on the specific services we offer and products we carry. Additional responsibilities may include support at sporting events, training sessions, and health fairs.
The ideal candidate must have at least 1 year of retail experience functioning in these positions and be able to lead by example, communicate effectively, determine and meet our customer’s needs with the appropriate products, ability to multi-task, carry a professional demeanor & have the ability to deliver excellent customer service that will exceed the expectations of our customers!
Primary Responsibilities (minimum 1 year experience)
• Merchandise set up and restocking
• Assess and fit customer’s needs
• Provide excellent customer service
• Cashiering duties
• Drive sales to achieve store goals
• Open & close the store
• Cash handling responsibilities
• Assist in running the store
• Store cleanliness
• Lead small running and walking groups
Job Qualifications
• Candidate must have prior experience in opening & closing the store, and training.
• Prior retail store experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work as a team player
• Two or more years of running experience
• Strong familiarity with the running and walking culture
