Temporary Part-Time Student Custodian

The Student Custodian is responsible for performing general custodial care of the building and grounds as directed by his/her supervisor. Unable to operate power-driven machinery by Oregon State Law.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Cleans and dusts offices and classrooms.
2. Sweeps, mops floors, washes windows, cleans sumps, vacuums, cleans and spot cleans carpets.
3. Empties wastebaskets and garbage cans.
4. Cleans restrooms, kitchens, and all types of rooms.
5. Changes lights, sweeps gymnasium courts and cafeterias.
6. Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess a physical condition sufficient to maintain a rigorous work schedule requiring continuous physical exertion and heavy lifting.
2. Demonstrated ability to work in an environment where:
- Conditions are somewhat unpleasant due to dust.
- Most of the day is spent, standing, walking, and climbing.
- There is a moderate possibility of personal injury caused by carelessness in handling light equipment.
3. Ability to use good judgment and deal successfully with students, teachers, staff and the general public during and after school hours.
4. Demonstrated ability to follow orders written or oral from his/her Head Custodian, Assistant Custodian or acting Assistant.
5. Ability to operate and maintain necessary equipment
6. Ability and willingness to learn and perform various functions in the Facility Services Department.
7. Ability to work successfully with other employees.
8. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, walk, carry and lift for four to six hours per day.
9. Ability to lift 0-50 lbs.
10. Must be 16 to 18 years of age.
11. Must be a current or returning high school student.
12. All applicants will need to undergo and pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
13. Requires a committment of 10 to 29 hours a week.
