Great interview and advice.

I think that managing your online presence is important. That is going to be a hard lesson for many to learn.

I keep telling my teens that I coach that their e-personality should compliment their real one. For some reason when they get online their insecurity and immaturity shines. They get wreckless in seeking attention and that really comes down to lack of self-esteem and understanding who they are.

So let's keep working with them, encouraging them and gently reminding them every now and again...they will get there....eventually :)

This is an excellent post. Better to be slightly over dressed and show respect for the company/position than give the impression that you don't care enough to dress a little nicer than usual. First impressions matter virtually everywhere, and an interview/application is no exception.

Excellent pointers! Your question: "would you hire you?" is fabulous. I am a manager and employee service consultant...I'll be sending this post to others who might benefit from it.
Also consider attitude. Most quality coaches will hire for attitude, then train aptitude...no matter what type of job.
Keep up the great work!

Yes!

There are still going to be more opportunities at the shore and other tourist destinations than there will be elsewhere. Sure it will be more difficult than previous years to find a job at the shore, but it will still be better than, say, the suburbs.

Opportunity is out there, you just have to know where to look, and chase it!!!

Cheers,
Brian
